Attica is a region located in the southern portion of Greece with a population of approximately 3,750,000. It is about 3800 kilometers in size and includes the cities of Athens, Eleusis, Laurium, Marathon, Megara, and Peiraeus.
The islands of Aegina, Antikythera, Hydra, Kythira, Salamis, Spetses, and Poros, as well as a portion of the Peloponnese peninsula, are also located in Attica. To the south, Attica is bordered by the Saronic Gulf and to the north lies the Boeotian plain.
Corinth borders on the west. This peninsula extends into the Aegean Sea and is separated into 3 plains (Pedia, Mesogeia, and Thriasia) by the Kithairon mountain range.
